PromOat™ works in drinks at two levels:
1.Allows health claims to be made in the USA and the EU.
Research has shown that 3g PromOat™ Beta Glucan per day reduces serum cholesterol and modulates blood Glycemic Index (GI).
A single serving of a drink – 200ml – should contain 0.75g of beta glucan for the claim to be made.
2.Gives excellent mouthfeel, texture and smoothness to a range of drinks such as fresh, fruit-based drinks, milk based breakfast products and sports drinks.
Stabilizing the water phase and acting as a soluble hydrocolloid type texturiser.
Engendering an excellent, creamy full-fat feeling to milk-based drinks, yoghurt drinks because of its water binding, texturising and related molecular characteristics.
Adding no taste of its own, simply enhancing the creamy nature of component milk, or enhancing the smoothness of fruit puree or pulp in water-based fruit preparations.
